Choose Wisely When Buying A Golf Club Set

Golfing has been a loved game since its creation. What started out as a hobby has turned into a sport now seen all around the world and advertised on channels like ESPN. Watching as the golfing club swings easily at that white small ball has made us fall in love with this game.
A great golf club set can be the difference between a good game and a poor game. The golf club set you use must be designed to fit the way you play the game as well as to your body type. No particular set of golf clubs is going to be ideal for everyone.
You can purchase a golf club set from just about anywhere. The price of the set will range sometimes anywhere from $170 and can go as high as 2 thousand bucks. Golf has been a game which has been loved for years and has grown in appreciation. In the earlier days, you did not see many retailers selling golf items.
Now, there’s a golf store in pretty much every town. A perfect way to narrow down a good golf club set is to check out the golf club reviews. These reviews will take individual clubs as well as the whole golf club set and let you know what people who have tested them thought about the club. Was it ideal for long fairway shots? Was the putter superb for helping you get that hole in one? Acuity golf clubs are 2 of name brands that are quite popular these days along with Knight golf clubs.
If you are going to invest lots of money into a collection of clubs then you want to confirm it is a set that is going to be worth what you paid for it. A good golf club set can get extraordinarily costly but it is an investment in your love for the sport.
Nowadays, you can purchase golf clubs either in a shop or on the Internet. Naturally, if you are making a purchase online you will not be able to test the product first. In this situation it is very important to make sure that you have previously tested the same name brand and style of clubs before you buy them.
You don’t want to get the set and then realize it wasn’t what you wanted or doesn’t work for the way you play the game. Just as a bow hunter has to have a bow that is meant to suit them, so does a golfer need to have a set of golfing clubs that it designed for them.
Golf if a favored sport and it is growing day by day not only in fans but in players as well . Retailers of golf club sets are also growing. Every kid wants to grow up and be the next Tiger Woods. Every man wants to be the next Arnold Palmer. Every woman wants to be the next LPGA champion.
The sole way to become that is to practice, practice, practice and to have a golf club set that is made for you and for your love of this game. Take your time and choose wisely.
Golf is a game that is relaxing and fun once you get the knack of it. First make sure that you love the game enough to make an investment in the tools to play it. Once you’ve made your purchase go out and just have some fun.

How to get a custom fitting set of Golf Clubs?
November 8th, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed
Every golfer’s physical capability and swing is distinctive. Many of today’s best golf clubs can be custom fit for lie angle, shaft type and length, grip type and size. Custom fitting golf clubs involves several easy measurements and a quick self-assessment of your game. This custom golf club has become more than a fad that even not so professional golfers test its waters.
Custom fitting is the process for tailoring a golf club to suit your personal swing.
Whatever your level, with a custom golf club the aim is to ensure that if you do make a good swing, the club will be square at impact and should produce a straight shot.
Custom Golf Club How To’s:
To custom fit your golf clubs, you need to know: your gender (male or female); your height in your stockings or socks; the distance from your wrist (where it bends) to the floor with your shoes off; your age; your handicap or skill level; how fast you swing a golf club; what club you use at the 150 yard marker.
Gender is used to put you into the correct fitting scale for custom golf clubs. The golf industry uses different definitions of “standard length” for men and women.
Your height and the distance in inches from your wrist to the floor are used together to determine the length of a custom golf club that is appropriate for you. The starting point for club length can vary up to 3 ½-inch ranging from ladies to men plus 1 ½-inch. A tall person with long arms can very easily require shorter clubs than an average height person with short arms. Estimates are that about 80 percent of all golfers are of a standard length.
Your age, handicap (if you happen to have one), self-assessed skill level, estimated golf swing speed and club you use at the 150 yard marker are all combined to determined the custom golf club’s shaft flex that is appropriate for you.
A custom fit club can fix your slice. If you slice the ball, this means that the toe of the club is leading into the ball which opens the face of the club. That could be caused by a swing fault, but it could be because the club is too flat. So when in the custom fitting process you can make the custom golf club more upright to help with this. This will mean that the toe of the club will be slightly off the ground at address to compensate.
There are different ways of fitting according to custom golf club dealers but ultimately they are all trying to improve your game. To start with simple measurements such as wrist-to-floor, height and hand size are taken and will point you to the right size club and at what angle it should be to the ground. Then you will take a club and hit some balls. One way is to place impact tape on the bottom of the custom golf club and an impact board on the floor.
As you hit the ball the board will leave a mark on the tape showing whether the heel or the toe of the custom golf club is striking the floor first. The resulting mark will show whether the club face needs to be flatter or more upright. In that case things get a bit more advanced. Analysis equipment can measure everything from your club speed to the side spin of the ball so that you can get maximum distance from your shot. One should also measure the launch angle of the ball, how much backspin you generate and impact efficiency - all which affect distance. The angle in which the custom golf club approaches the ball and the sidespin of it can help fix your game too.
Why don’t you start from scratch, instead of bringing down your old clubs,. It’s a big mistake to think that custom fitting is only for the best golfers. Almost anyone will benefit. If you consider to upgrade a new set of clubs from the same manufacturer they may be able to adjust your old set to become custom golf clubs.
Custom fitting won’t cure all your bad shots. Coaching will sort that out. Once you do make a good swing, then the custom golf club will arrive correctly at impact and should produce a straight shot at your target. That alone will save shots during a round.
Lastly, custom fitting is often free of charge. But it is usually on the condition that you buy some golf clubs once you’ve been fitted. So it really depends on what your budget is. If you’re prepared to buy a new set of clubs it’s definitely worth getting fitted.

Golf Tips - Gripping the Golf Club
November 3rd, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed
Although it seems that gripping a golf club may be the most elemental part of the golf swing, and maybe it is, it could also be the most important part of the swing.Improper tension in your golf grip can throw your entire swing off. Having an improper grip can greatly detract from the power and accuracy of the swing, and for the advanced golfer, it can hamper the way they try to shape a shot.
You should never hold the club hand over hand like a baseball bat, or axe handle. The interlocking is where the golfer slides his left index finger between the ring and pinkie fingers of the right hand. The left index finger will lay on top of the right pinkie or on top of ht notch between the pinkie and ring fingers, this is the overlapping grip. These grips allow the hands to hold the club steady while cocking and rolling the wrists throughout the swing.
Start your grip about one finger from the end of the club. Move down for shorter controlled shots. When the hands are together, the club should lie along the callous pad line of the hands and not in the palms. When the hands are closed around the club, the thumbs should be aligned straight down the club grip. The forearms come together to form a V toward the club.
Although there is no hard fast rule as to how firmly the golfer should grip the club, the prevailing belief is that it should be loose, yet firm enough to keep it from moving in your hands.Don't tighten your grip through the swing, keep the "loose grip" in our mind throughout.Experimentation and repetitive practice will help the golfer find the right grip.
Through practice, the golfer will find that the grip will become a natural part of the swing. It should not be overthought, but it is very important. It is recommended that a golfer always keep a club nearby, and just practice applying and reapplying the grip over and over.

Do You Fear A Golf Weight Training Program?
November 2nd, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed
Golf weight training program. In a sport that hardly has any controversies; few issues have come as close to being controversial as golf weight training programs have. More so amateur and non-professional golfers.
A golf weight training program need not be controversial at all, if you really examine the facts .
Although professionals have now fully embraced the benefit of golf weight training programs, amongst the other golfers golf weight training programs are still looked on with a lot of fear and apprehension. These fears are of course mainly based on ignorance rather than enough solid facts and knowledge.
One of the greatest fears is that some of the golf weight training programs designed to build strength are too strenuous. Others fear that yet flexibility is an important attribute for any golfer and they will develop great big muscles that will make them stiff .
These fears are of course completely unjustified. Most golf weight training program has been successfully completed by golfers who are as old as 80 years old. The junior golfer barely in their teens have also graduated from the same programs without any problem. Not to mention ladies golfers several of who are senior citizens.
Golf weight training programs are designed to increase strength and not to body build or build great huge muscles, then it is significant to note . The use of dumbbells is different with the two different objectives. For example lighter weights is used and they are lifted more times than the case would be for a bodybuilder dealing in much heavier weights.
Many good golf weight training programs involving dumbbells will also include certain stretch exercises using them. Stretch exercises are very good in improving golf swings.
When you take a closer look, golf weight training programs are really not be feared. Rather than they should be embrace as they have helped many golfers revolutionize their games.
There is no doubt that the importance of a golf weight training program will continue to rise in the years to come.

Golf Beginners Guide - Items You Should Have In Your Golf Bag.
October 28th, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed
Before considering what the contents of our golf bag should include, it is actually worth noting that there is a wide choice of golf bags themselves available. To a large degree your golf bag preference is dependent on your budget as well as what you want from your golf bag. Some golf bags are considered to be fashion accessories, some are identified only for their practical uses and some are a mixture of both of these attributes.
To ask the age old question - does size matter? Many golfers consider this to be an important factor. So, fortunately there are large bags, larger bags and bags so big that they’d keep everything I would need for a long weekend holiday in one of the side pockets! What do people often say - everything but the kitchen sink, I think it is. Maybe you are just beginning your golf love affair. If so then selecting a suitable golf bag is one of several important considerations to contend with. Choosing the right golf bag, as well as having to contend with all the other golf matters you will need to learn, can be quite intimidating for the newbie golfer. Don’t worry though, you can find many great tips and information at Golf Beginners Guide.
Anyway, back to your golf bag. Regardless of any fashion considerations for the time being, generally speaking you will need a bag that will be sufficiently large enough to hold your clubs, extra balls, your glove, tees, car keys, extra pencils, ball markers, a ball retriever,
sun tan lotion, a windbreaker and an umbrella.
Also consider that it may be a good idea to carry a packet of tissues or two, some sticking plasters, and if you are playing courses in a country where insects, such as mosquitos, are a concern, some bug repellant may also be a good idea. In any type of weather it is well worth considering taking a bottle of water with you (or any other drink of your choice - alcohol excluded of course!!)!!)
A small packet of baby wipes will come in very handy as well. In your bag they get warmed by the heat, so when you get sweaty or a sand trap covered you with sand, a nice warm wipe can be very invigorating. To cool from the heat, a golfing buddy I know carried a small, battery operated fan with him. Quite a good idea as it happens but remember, they can be fairly noisy and distracting so do not use it when your partner is about to take a shot. The fan is not a bad idea but not an essential for the golfing beginner.
A golfing friend of mine also happens to be allergic to bees, hornets and wasps, so Epipen is a vital addition to his bag. He is also hypoglycemic so he carries Lifesavers, which have to be replaced several times throughout the year because they tend to melt.
One modern day convenience that is not really a necessity on the golf course is a mobile phone. However, if you feel that it is needed during your round of golf, you ought to really turn the ringer to mute as a consideration to your fellow golfers. If it so happens that you have to use it, then consider your fellow golfers who may be preparing to take a swing or an important put. Be courteous and show respect for your golf playing partners!!
Having these items in your golf bag should allow for everything you will need, even in a minor emergency (like a blister) or a major inconvenience, like a sudden rainstorm. If your organisation and preparation is well taken care of, the game of golf becomes so much more enjoyable.
You may think of other things that are essential to you (for example you may suffer from hay fever and as a result your medication is vital) so take note of the above items as a guideline. Don’t go too mad as you still have to carry the bag around. You will not want to tire yourself out by carrying your bag round if it is too heavy. Whatever you choose to keep in your bag always look after the items as well as you would look after your other golf equipment.

5 Ways To Enjoy Golf More
October 28th, 2009    Subscribe To Our Feed
We all love the game of golf, but some times it is just as they say, a good walk spoiled. Here are a few ways to enjoy golf more.
- Play not the blue tees.
Unless you are at least a 10 handicap or lower, why bother making the golf course even harder than it has to be. It makes no sense making a conscious decision to making the course more difficult, if you are shooting in the 90’s or triple digits.Played the white tees also took the extra level of anxiety out of the equation.
- Improve your lie
There is no way you should be playing the strict rules of golf, when you are having a recreational round of golf. The average round of golfs would be at least six hours at course all over the world. Golfers would be returning to the tees all day after hitting there first ball out bounds, or searching for every lost ball for 5 minutes.
So if we are bending the rules to save time, why not bend them to improve your lie, something you can actually benefit from.Play winter rules all your time.
- Play different games
Instead playing the same match with your buddies, compete in other categories other than score. Some examples would be:
Most fairways hit
Least amount of 3 putts
Most 1 putts
- If it is your honor, take it.
You just birdie the hardest (or easiest) hole on the golf course, it is your tee, you earned it, take it. Challenge yourself to get another one, you will be surprised how often you can have two birdies in a row if you are actually trying to get two birdies in a row.
- Lower of expectation.
You don’t practice as much as you should, if you are a average golfer you play golf twice per week if you’re lucky, on top of that.. You can not honestly think that your games are not exactly what it should be.
Just enjoy the game itself, don’t be so hard on yourself when you’re not playing well. Even the pros hasn’t good day.
